If you continue one km further from Valara falls towards
Kochi, you will see Cheeyappara waterfalls falling majestically next to the
road. It appears all of a sudden with a pleasant surprise.
Cheeyappara waterfalls though looks beautiful has a sad
event associated with it. On August 6th 2013, a landslide that
occurred led to the killing of six people. When we visited, the area looked
clam with only trace of landslide being the warning boards erected by the
authorities.
